"A Common Pulse" was a game made by Kian Bashiri, of "You Have To Burn The Rope" fame, and his friend Daniel Remle. It was essentially a remake of an older game called "Accelerando", which won a game concept challenge in Sweden. Not entirely happy with the look and feel of that game, Kian and Daniel went to work on a new version which they would later submit to the Swedish Game Awards competition. Gameplay was centered around a tube and a character that ran on its own along its surface. The player needed to jump, move left and right, collect items and not collide with obstacles.

The music people - Fredrik Häthén and his friend Calle Leppäjoki - had worked on "Accelerando" and they were happy to return for the next version. "A Common Pulse" was never released to the public, but this soundtrack is still there! The composers also remixed some of their music for this little mini-album. The idea for the album name was Kian's. Sure, there are different beats in the different tracks, but they all share the same pulse.

(Little known fact: Calle's ingame music will burrow into your brain and never ever leave once you listen to it. You have been warned.)
